Empowering You to Live Independently, Safely, and Comfortably in Your Own Home
Enjoy the freedom of living independently with the exact level of daily support you need. At OpenWings Disability Care, our Supported Independent Living (SIL) in Adelaide provides personalized, round-the-clock care designed around your personality, daily routines, and long-term goals.
Whether you are moving into a shared home for the first time, transitioning into independent living, or looking for a supportive environment with 24/7 care, our team is here to help you thrive.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS-funded support that assists participants with daily tasks so they can live as independently as possible in a shared home or individual accommodation.
SIL focuses on person-centered assistance and skill-building. Rather than just managing tasks for you, our dedicated support workers help you build daily life skills so you can take control of your own home and schedule.
No two participants share the same routines or preferences. That is why our NDIS SIL services in Adelaide are built around your choice and control.
A happy home starts with the right housemates. We carefully match housemates based on age, shared hobbies, lifestyle preferences, and communication styles to create a harmonious, welcoming home environment.
Your day should follow your schedule—not ours. You choose when you wake up, what meals you enjoy, and how you spend your weekends.
We proudly support Adelaide’s diverse multicultural and First Nations communities. We ensure support staff respect cultural values, dietary requirements, language preferences, and personal traditions.
SIL is funded under Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life in your NDIS plan.
Important Note: SIL funding covers the support staff and 24/7 care inside the home. It does not cover rent, food, utility bills, or general living expenses (which are paid separately using private funds, Disability Support Pension, or Board arrangements).
If you are unsure how your NDIS budget allocates SIL funding, our Adelaide intake specialists can guide you and your Support Coordinator through the assessment process.
Yes. While SIL is commonly delivered in shared living arrangements, SIL funding can also be used for participants living in individual apartments or private homes if authorized in their NDIS plan.
Depending on your assessed needs, overnight care can be provided as active overnight support (where a worker is awake and available continuously) or sleepover support (where a worker sleeps on site and is available for assistance if needed).
Yes. You have complete choice and control. We introduce you to potential support workers beforehand to ensure you feel comfortable, safe, and respected in your home.
To access SIL, you typically require a Home and Living Assessment completed by an Occupational Therapist (OT) and a Roster of Care (RoC) submitted to the NDIA by your Support Coordinator or SIL provider.
